I've been engaged in Bluegrass/Appalachian music since I was 11-12 years old. I learned guitar from my late mentor, Ray Slone, a fiddler from Eastern KY, and have been involved with numerous projects since. My expertise on Guitar can best be described as 'General Picking' - I'm no amazing flatpicker, and I coulden't read music if my life depended on it. Since moving out of the Mountains and into Louisville for college, I've begun to learn more about this 'music' stuff, however. I'm currently learning a bit more about Music Theory from David Carter.

In 2008, I lost both of my remaining Grandparents, with whom I was very close. In passing, they left to their Grandchildren a small amount of money to do with what they wished. I could see no better way to use it than to purchase an Instrument, something that I would use daily and always have. Thus, I was viciously attacked by the 'Banjo bug'. I've been hooked ever since. I'm now a student of Jim Smoak, whom requires little introduction, and loving every moment of it.
