I haven't dropped in to the banjo hangout for quite a while, but I'm now back and hoping to stay around for a while.
A few things have changed since I was last here. I've now moved into a smaller house so I had to get rid of a few of my instruments including two of my banjos. I gave my original resonator 5-string to a friend who had enjoyed playing it when he dropped round to visit and also found a new home for my tenor banjo, which I was hardly using. I've still got my Deering Goodtime (which I use for most stuff) and my nylon-strung fretless.
The band in which I used to play occasional banjo tunes (though I was mostly there as a fiddler) folded a couple of years ago, so I don't often play the banjo out in public these days. I did play a couple of tunes at an open mic night a few weeks ago, which made a nice change from the guitar-based programme of the rest of the evening.
I'm still enjoying playing a fairly eclectic mix of tunes and styles, with clawhammer still my main fallback style.
