Playing guitar since the age of 12 years,inspired by Joan Baez and American and British Folk music of the 60`s, I progressed to performing solo in the folk clubs and festivals in England, Scotland and Wales. Along the way, I learned to play Appalachian dulcimer and Irish bazouki, which lead me into old time music, and ultimately the banjo. I recorded my CD, Sweet is the melody, in 2001, with backing from top UK musicians, Tom McConville, (fiddle), Chris Parkinson,[accordion/keyboards] Ian Fairbairn,[guitar/mandolin],Alistair Russell[guitar/cd production]. Since then I have performed as The Rosie Clegg Band, with Yorkshire Bluegrass Musicians, Kevin and Neil Garratt, [guitar, mandolin, Dobro,] and Chris Rawnsley, [double bass]. Many hours of fun, singing, and banjo picking are also spent with John Les and Gill Williams of Highly Strung of North Wales.
