GOOSE ACRES - Galax Model (1987)
Walnut Neck made by Kevin Enoch (who worked at Goose Acres at this time)
11" rim (maple)
25 1/2" scale Walnut Neck
railroad spike at 7th and 9th fret.
No scoop - just empty fretboard - very comfortable for clawhammer...with either a 1/2 or 5/8th bridge.
Excellent shape - there is a small chip on the back of the headstock (see picture)
This was a prototype model. Before settling into their standard Traditional Model which featured a standard scale they came up with this Galax Model to suit the Galax style that was gaining popularity at the time. With the bridge moved closer to the center this banjo has a nice deep wollop of a sound...and is very comfortable especially for the round peak enthusiast who prefers an 11" rim over a 12" rim.
Comes with a basic gig bag. Shipped in a professional box. Ups or Fedex (your choice).
