Born in Upstate New York, Grandson of a fiddler and banjo player, John Lounsbury, Started playing at 13 with family, played with Fennigs All Stars on the first record. Moved to Toronto and worked as journeyman luthier there and played in many off the cuff casual bands. Played banjo for the Swamp Root String band in 1975, then moved to Northern California. Worked at the 5th String in S.F and played with the Arkansas Sheiks till the end. Also played with Highballers from the Planet Hell, Fish Head String band, The California Diamondbacks and most recently, the Roadoilers. www.roadoilers.com
