Lo and behold!

Monday, March 8, 2010

Wayne Sagmoen just sent me some pictures of the banjo he's built for me, so I added a Sagmoen banjo-album in the Photos-section. Ain't she a beauty?!! Wayne also has a brand new web-site: http://sagmoenbanjos.com

I grew up in the beautiful valley of Hallingdal, Norway. When I was eleven years old, I started fooling around with my dad's guitar. At the age of sixteen I switched from six strings to four, and bass became my main instrument. At some point in my twenties I guess I felt the need to find something in between 4 and 6, and there aren't that many 5-stringed instruments... *smile* I've been playing banjo since 2002, when I went out and bought one inspired by the beautiful banjo-playing by Dirk Powell in the movie "Ride With The Devil". I discovered bluegrass soon after, and was completely hooked. In recent years I've started learning clawhammer style, and now that's what I do most of the time.
