I learned this from Perry Fly of Bolinas, ca. He has told me for 20 years that I play the second part first, but what can I do, it's too late to change.

One of my all time favorite tunes. I got it from Mike Drayton when we played for the Arkansas Sheiks, and he got it from a Missouri fiddler named Pearl Sivetts. Generally played in A ,I like this G version much better. Also on the CD

No history on this tune. Lost in the misty reaches of the past.

A song pretty much everybody knows, which we used to play in D in the Arkansas Sheiks so as to sing it better. I like the way it works a lot.

Another Sandy Stark tune. I play it often for dances with the Roadoilers.

I just recorded this the other day in G after trying, unsuccessfully, for ages to figure it out in D. Tough luck for the fiddlers!

This is the version that we played in the Swamp Root Stringband and now play in the Roadoilers. Normally I sing it, but not very normally.
