The place is still the same. It is the Rod and Gun Club of Heidelberg located in Oftersheim. Over the past two years the management has changed but the warm welcome has not. It has become a gathering of musicians from the region who have a broad spectrum of experience and ability. Our core members are still the past a and present members of Night Run and Just Grass who have been very generous with their time and talent and have grown to be some of my best friends. Their fiddle player whom I talked about before has come to play many times. What a talent!
No one asks to play my instruments any more. They either bring their own or sit and listen. We have now a number of novice players who come to pick with us. It is great how eager they are to play and how helpful my friends are in giving them an opportunity to learn.
Sadly, my co-founder, Patrick Russell has had to move back to the US. Our loss is Northern Virginia’s gain. He is missed but the jam goes on. I hope that one day when I too have to go back to the good old US of A the jam session will carry on
As always, if you are in southwestern Germany on the second Thursday of the month feel free to drop on by and lay a few notes on us. You can find the address on Google Maps.

I have been playing off and on since middle school. I just love the sound the instrument makes. I sponsor a jam on a monthly basis. Come pick with us.
