I played accordion and tuba as a child. I took up the 6 string guitar in connection with the revival spirit (Cursillo) Movement in my church. When I moved to the west coast from Virginia where I was stationed with the Army; I found that I could not keep up with the speed of the guitar players. They needed bass players more than 6 or 12 string players so I converted. I think I can cut quite a good rag in that venue with my bass banjo or other. I began playing my Beetles bass with a 5 string player and he got me interested in a Bass Banjo. Then I added the Tenor. I play the tenor when he is not with me and I need to lead the singing. I spend about every Saturday and Sunday with church, Kairos, or Cursillo music gigs. No money but a lot of love for the Lord. I now play 3 to 4 times a week with The Tacoma Banjo Club. We play at retirement homes and civic activities In the Tacoma Wa. area. http://web.me.com/tacomabanjo/Site/WELCOME_.html
