Episcopal church and the tenor banjo

Posted by stevengaub on Sunday, March 1, 2009

I will be leading the music at a small Episcopal Church this Sunday. I paly there every other Sunday but my 5 string friend usually leads the music.  This little church has a notable percentage of several ethnic backgrounds and love Curscillo revival type music. Lent is a challenge but we shall have fun.

Did your friend give up the 5 string for Lent?   ;-))

Cursillo music covers a lot of territory and I'm sure you will find more than enough to get you through one Lenten service. There are several of us down on the Gulf Coast who have provided music for Cursillo week-ends and KAIROS prison week-ends, with banjo, bass, mandolin and guitar. You will do just fine, as you will have a captive, yet forgiving group of worshipers.
