Playing Since: 1976
Experience Level: Purty Good
Interests:
[Helping]
Occupation: Driver
Gender: Male
Age: 60
My Instruments:
1952 RB-150. Pre-war flat-head tonering added in 1960 by the original owner (the late Tommy Perkins), from whom I got the banjuh in 1985. It has residual cam-tuner holes in the peghead which Tommy used to hold his cigaretts while he was picking.
If you see a pic of me playing a Flying Eagles banjer, that's a Stew-Mac. It's really heavy, probably because there are no holes in the tonering and lots of glue in the 11-ply rim. Since it weighs so much and it sounds better to the player than it does to the listener, I loaned it to a guy who's learning how to play.
Favorite Bands/Musicians:
Banjoers:: Earl Scruggs, Ron Rimmer, Sonny Osborne, Donnie Harvey. Other Musicians: Jerry Douglas, Mike Marshal. Bands: Osborne Brothers, Seldom Scene, 0044, American Bluegrass Express, Marty Raybon & Full Circle.

Nothing to report. I'm not really that interesting. Why don't you read about some of my friends? They're pretty interesting. Well, maybe I'll just tell a few basics. I was born in August of 1962. The Beverly Hillbillies came on a few weeks later. The rest is history. Well, actually, it's all "history". It's all in the past anyway. So the bottom line is, I grew up listening to Earl Scruggs. I love the banjo.
