I been playing banjo a while now. The tunes that interest me the most are Central West Virginia tunes that people aren't playing much. I learned to play banjo primary from Ben Townsend (5 years) and Tim Bing (4 years). However, I've spent a lot of time learning from Andrew Dunlap, David O'Dell, and Jimmy Costa. I've also spent some time learning from from Reed Martin, John Morris, and John Blisard on my trips to their homes. I'm interest in playing gigs and square dances as well as teaching workshops anywhere.
In addition to my playing, I also build banjos in the style of Jenes Cottrell. I've spent the past 6 years researching Jenes, documenting his banjos, and consulting with his former apprentice. It has been an amazing opportunity and I have gotten to develop some wonderful friendships through this journey.
