Tonight I went to my first bluegrass jam. It was called the Full Moon Pickin' Party. It was in one of the fields of the stables where they hold Steeplechase in Nashville. It was quite a turnout! I wasn't sure what to expect, so I brought my banjo along. It was fun to sit on a blanket in the grass and listen to the players, and pick around on my banjo. I will definitely try to go to the next one in July! :-)

I've always wanted to learn how to play the banjo, so I got one for my birthday this year, and I'm having a blast so far. I am using the Geoff Hohwald teaching method, plus any other advice or information I can glean from other resources.
