the head on my stelling has had its last pickin, i found a crack in the head right where it raps over the tone ring, my bellfower has the origanial head from 1980, i am surprized that it has lasted this long, but any way should i go back with a Lubwig like Geoff puts on when he builds them or should i go with 5star or remo? what do you guys think?

	jimmie99 says: 3/23/2013 10:00:45 AM I have a 1980 Belleflower and have tried several heads over the years including one I bought direct from Stelling a couple years ago. My favorite, and the one I have recently gone back to, is the Fyberskyn (sp). Goeff doesn't like them but I sure do.

	hugginhound says: 3/26/2013 1:57:17 AM I am currently tweeking the sound of a 1978 walnut bellflower after a complete rebuild. so far I have tried a frosted five star (to thick and heavy) It is ok at low tension, but then does not do well up the neck and I am sure it can sound a whole lot better with a different head. I am going try a remo frosted next. I will be interested to see how you get on. One thing I have noticed is that a cherry bridge makes the whole thing sweeter. it is on 10-22 strings at the moment. good luck.

Ludweg seems to do a better job... i was trying to find out if any one has had any luck with other brand heads but from all my research i hav found to always go with Ludweg.
