Sometimes on YouTube, folks ask me to share tabs, but I don't have any experience with them.
I started learning rolls by the musical notes in the Earl Scruggs Banjo Book and still read enough music to get by for productions like Cotton Patch Gospel and Rhapsody in Bluegrass.
However, really all of my learning and adapting are by ear - listening to tunes, re-creating them on banjo, and playing along with the original recordings until I'm satisfied. A few of my most recent are "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You" (Elvis), "Living On A Prayer" (Bon Jovi), and "Buckaroo" (Buck Owens). It's almost like my banjo sings the melodies.
My foremost goals are to have fun and play what makes me happy!
All the best to you! Have fun!!!!!!!!!

Started playing at age 10. My daddy got aggravated when I'd put my own spin on traditional tunes. So I kept doing it, then started making up my own tunes, then got my first electric banjo. I play solo gigs, do studio work, and love taking part in productions. I also play with bluegrass, country, and Southern rock bands, and love making a banjo fit where folks think it has no business, like in rock, soul, and funk.
