Welcome

From 5 String on 1/28/2011 10:34:48 AM

This is the place to show and tell about anything Stelling banjo.  Whether you own one (or more) or just want to own one, come on in and talk!

I've owned and played Stelling banjos exclusively since 1981.  At last count I have owned 13 Stellings with 3 being the most I have owned at one time.  I currently play a 1988 Whitestar with the original 3-ply rim.

Let's hear from all Stelling owners about your banjos and post a picture.  Prospective Stelling owners...tell why you want one.

Let's make this the biggest group page on the BHO!

I picked up a Golden Cross last month. Sounded like a cannon right out of the case and has a slightly wider neck than my Gibson, which is to my liking. I also thought that the factory installed 5th string spikes were a great idea. Good bridge, heavy tailpiece, no changes needed there. Overall, it's a well made banjo.

I've owned 5 Stellings in the past and I presently own an 04 Redfox and a 05 Crusader. Would like to add a walnut, bound peg head someday to the stable.

Hello all, I am blesses to have had a bunch of banjos over the years and still own a few and for my two cents I always come back to my Stellings. Thy are not for everybody I guess because some folks say the don't care for the sound, but if you want a banjo to do whatever you ask of it and is as true as the come up the neck, in my opinion there is nothing like a Stelling, Pruchas are the closet thing to one that I come across and that is why I like them also but Stellings are the Ultimate banjo for sure.

Hello 5 String,
You posted a review of a 1999 Stelling Staghorn that you ordered that was gold plated and engraved in 2003. Your site doesn't have any pictures of it. I sure would love to see some pictures since I am considering between a new Stelling Staghorn and a Red Fox Deluxe. Do you still have it? If not,do you have any pictures? Thanks

Love my Stelling Bellflower and play it all the time. It's heavy, but I work out so it's not a problem. That gunshot Stelling sound is worth it - ain't nothing like it!!!
