Started out wanting to play fancy picking Scruggs style banjo until I discovered I was retarded at it, then I found clawhammer and frailing and got addicted. I'm a blues guitarist originally but I have become a bit of a fan of old time stuff, and "new grass". I sold my RK bluegrass banjo to a friend because they showed an interest in playing bluegrass banjo which I really wanted to foster. Unfortunately I am now out of a banjo, but I intend to build an Appalachian fretless when I have the time.
In a round about way I am putting it out there to anyone in the Waikato who wants to talk banjo or jam (if they have extra gear) to reply and let me know. I'm a bit rusty and in need of learning more repertoire.
Wade.
