Howdy, folks. I'm proud and wildly excited to say that I've put down a deposit on a Nechville Galaxy Phantom that I found in a shop in my home town of Melbourne, Australia!

I'd read so much about them, and knew this was going to be my next banjo, though I had no idea the extent to which it suited my style of playing until I actually played one.

I've been playing a Hatfield Special, which I love to death, but it's definitely a Bluegrass banjo. The Nechville I'm buying is something else entirely - something about its tone almost feels resistant to traditional Bluegrass. I love it! It's a great antithesis to my Hatfield.

Any other Nechville players from Australia here?

	dpete210 says: 7/18/2013 11:04:41 AM Good choice! Play around with banjo head tightness and I believe you will be surprised at the difference between a looser and tighter head. The versatility and ease of making changes is but one of the great things about the Nechville banjos.

I agree with Pete, do be shy about playing with the head tension, duper easy. I also have a Hatfield Special and really dig it as well! Cheers'
