This little midget is fun! I got it as a carry-on for an overseas vacation and didn't want to risk checking in an instrument. Now it stays in my car so I'll always have a banjo. My grandkids can hold it easily and I used it for my school Halloween costume. I posed as a poor musician, but when I went to lead the school in My Country Tis of Thee using "Mini," I broke the 5th string (again). It really needs spikes for re-tuning. I've got it tuned to open D. 	Banjo-Man-Dan says: 11/5/2011 9:51:45 AM The BG-Mini has the mahogany resonator. The CC-Mini models I have played sound similar, but I don't play clawhammer. Your playing sounded wonderful on it.
	JanetB says: 11/5/2011 10:23:26 AM Thanks again. I used a plastic Alaska pick when clawhammering that, but usually use traditional 3-finger picks when playing. Do you have an MP3 with your resonator? It must sound different than the open back. The hard thing was to transpose keys when playing the normal traditional tunes my mandolin-playing husband and I play together. I'd have to come up with a different solo, or he'd have to transpose to my new key--G became C or D, etc.

	JanetB says: 11/11/2011 6:59:25 PM I gave the Gold Tone website sample a listen. Very nice and resonant. The only problem I've had with the small size is transposing into other keys when playing standard tunes. I won't use a capo and therefore have to work it out in whichever key is needed. It's a bit confusing to think a 5th beyond the major key, but I guess I could get used to it. Like playing in D on the mini for something usually in G. For a solo instrument, it's still a whole lotta fun.
