This is a group for all you Gold Tone owners out there, I was looking threw and couldn't find a group needed to fix that!

I bought a MC-150 Long Neck back in 1999. At that time, Gold Tone was just starting out with no dealers in my area so I visited Titusville when on vacation and ordered the banjo. It has been a great instrument. I choose the bronze tone ring option which was good for tone but made the banjo very heavy (12 pounds). I am in an Celtic band and switch often between banjo and guitar so the weight was always a problem. I finally called Wayne at Gold Tone and recently sent the banjo back to see what he suggested. He replaced the pot with a light weight version from the new MM-150 model together with a whyte laydie tone ring, all at a very reasonable price and quick turn-around. The banjo sounds great and the weight reduction is tremendous. Wayne also replaced, at no charge, my old Gold Tone pickup with a new version that doesn't have to touch the head, has a vastly improved mounting bracket, and an outside mounted cable jack. The folks at Gold Tone are very helpful and it is not too often that you can regularly talk to the boss of a company you are working with!
