I have an all-original 1920 Whyte Laydie No. 2 in excellent, original condition that I'd like to sell or trade for an SS Stewart. I'm especially interested in early SS Stewarts and Stewarts with larger rims (Champions, 12'' Thoroughbreds, and Orchestras). I might also be interested in an early Stewart Special.
This particular Whyte Laydie has a straight neck with a really comfortable profile. It plays easily and sounds superb. It has a 10 15/16'' head and a 27'' scale. There is minor fretwear to the original frets at the lower positions, but this does not impede playing. The original finish shows some signs of past use, and the metal parts have a lovely, even patina. Having owned and handled many Whyte Laydies over the years, I can say with confidence that you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer example.
