LOL, well beginner's mind doesn't have a "thread closed" clause. How to play Celtic tunes -- not just Irish ones -- is not a case-closed topic and the many techniques and approaches for this style are still being discovered and worked out. It's a huge topic with many different avenues, plots and subplots.
People, of course, are always free to initiate and leave a thread whenever they choose, but the topic doesn't die as a result of someone having answered his own question or thinking that a thread is closed (for him).
Notice how this thread isn't titled: How to play Irish tunes, which is a different topic, though closely related.
So many tunes, so little time.
