In the eighties I played in a band called Buck & Loose Change. Reg Buck wasn't really the leader, but his name sounded great. That's me on the mandolin, no beard, no pot belly and a pony tail.

Around the turn of the century i played in Late For Dinner. We used to say," You can't call us anything you like, but you can call us Late For Dinner. Although we did play a number of bluegrass songs and bluegrassy songs (Steam Powered Areoplane) we weren't a bluegrass band. We called our stuff "eclectic acoustic". Hey, that'd be a good band name -Eclectic Acoustic

We've got one heck of a musician here in Milwaukee, name of Paul Cebar.

I've suggested to him that he do an album of cowboy songs, and call it
Songs from the C Bar Ranch

Trouble is, as a brand on a cow, it looks like a a grade on a bad report card

Mike, I still like the Old Rugged Cross-dressers!!

mike gregory - Posted - 02/16/2011:  12:28:59

Thank you.
But it can't be part of the contest, can it???????????
I mean, it was made up LOOOONNNNG before the contest started.

Wish I had saved a copy of the Photoshopped picture.

Maybe I can do something with the "Paint" program.

The Old Rugged Cross Dressers!
Heads by Statlers, bodies by Lennons.

Didn't know I could paste up like that with Paint. Thought it HAD to be Photoshop, which I'm too cheap to buy.
Thanks for inspiring me to learn something new.
Now, no picture is safe from my shenanigans!

So I punched
old rugged cross dressers into the AOL search, and by gum!
Here's somebody else's picture.
Apparently, the pun has occurred to others, as well as to me.

mike gregory - Posted - 02/16/2011:  13:10:17

Oh! My! (insert name of preferred deity)!
Seems there actually is a Nashville band touring under this exact name!

myspace.com/oldruggedcrossdressers

Now I can't possibly win, since it's not an IMAGINARY band any more.

Ah, well.
I don't need the prize Lee Marcus was hinting at, back on page ONE of the 18 pages.
I've got at least $345,287,560.00 coming in, if the offers that were e-mailed me since Jan 1, 2011 are all legitimate.
