Cordelia, that's VERY subtle.
A tip of the Very Special Hat to you for that one.

Hemorrhoids from Uranus
This was the temporary name that was used by my friend's band when they had to follow The Hillbillies from Mars at a picking contest. The annnouncer introduced them to the audience with this name with some trepidation.

Good list, Sir Holmes.
I don't feel like reading all fifteen pages again, to see if I already mentioned a REAL group, who made a record I purchased.
"The Missing Otis Trio"
It was two guys, one on guitar and one on banjo, with an empty chair between them!

Thanks Mike. There have been lots of great entries, including some of yours. If I ever had a band, I would call it ZVBXRPL. I'm something of a Marx Brothers fan, and that's the "secret code" that Chico sells (along with stacks of books to decode the code) to Groucho at the horse racing track as a "tip"... very funny scene in the movie "A Day at the Races".

Reminds me of the time, some years back, when attorneys for Sergio Valenti sued a condom manufacturer for naming their product
"Surgeo Preventi".
