I’ve got one I’ve had probably since late80s. The “newer “ Paige capos are pathetic. The stupid clip is a pain to not only close but open too. I’m not sure where Quality Control was or what engineer approved it, but they made a really good capo a hassle to use. I had a couple of those newer capos for about a month and they got gone. The old clasp that flips down is the way to go. Sorry to rant. Not really .I’ve been wanting to say this since I bent my thumb nail bakerds .lol

While not a Paige, Kat Eyz capos are of a similar design. I have one of those and have had no issue with it for years and years.

I can't picture this in my mind - would the original poster or someone else please try to put a couple pictures up showing the difference between the two types?

I like the Paige capo on banjos without a hand-stop at the nut getting in the way of parking the capo (I hadn't noticed they had changed the clasp  ).

The plain Shubb capo is my current favorite, if it fits the neck depth (these capos don't fit deep necks).

The new Shubb F5 looks like a better option than either one at twice the price; or a Kat Eyez at thrice.  

shubb has one with a flip over design similar to the old paige capos.

hey david have you ever played at that fancy remodeled barn at pinehurst golf course ?  its the one where the horse race track was at.  we did a couple of weddings there years ago .... real nice venue....

No I haven't. I've been there several times. It's the Fair Barn. Nice place. Next time you're there check out the Track Restaurant just down the track from the Fair Barn. Great breakfast there. There is some real good bluegrass jamming at Circle M City near Sanford every Monday night beginning at 6:30.

My Shubb Fine Tune capo has popped off twice while I have been playing, so it now sits in my case pocket while I use my Paige capo. I have never had another capo pop off in over 50 years of playing.
