Apparently Dale Hunter has been checking out this august thread.  I've been keeping a bit of an eye on the Memorial Cup and the London Knights use of that ^^ strategy was noticeable in tonight's win over Moose Jaw. No goals directly from it, but it helped in keeping MJ on its heels, IMNSHumbleO.

[Fwiw, they also won more of the 50/50 battles and played a very "structured" game ... at this point I ain't betting against them.]

I figure a "nice" feature would be a display of the number of times somebody [including me] posts what is essentially the same post .... progressing in size / flashing arrows / sound effects / etc. as the number increases.  That's  'w-a-y beyond my understanding of computers / programming / text recognition / etc. , but.... how hard could it be??   I'd put it into "Improvements and Suggestions" but it might not be taken seriously.     

And a tale I've told more than once .... back when we were pretending to be snowbirds, we'd semi-regularly go for walks in the MHP.  Our sister and brother-in-law were part of a sorta tight-knit group of 5 or half a dozen couples, so naturally (?) on our rounds we'd stop in to exchange pleasantries.   By about the third telling of the same tale I'd point out to my wife that although I might someday get to the point of not remembering things for as long as it takes to tell them, I wasn't there yet. Her advice never varied: "Just stay quiet; it won't hurt you."

The Saginaw Spirit were born when Dick Garber, the owner of several local automobile dealerships, purchased the North Bay Centennials and moved the team to Saginaw after the 2001–02 season. Saginaw Spirit was named by an elementary school student attending Handley Elementary after a contest was held to name the new coming team.
The team traces its roots back to St. Catharines, Ontario, where it played as the Falcons, Teepees, and Black Hawks from 1943 to 1976. It won two Memorial Cup championships as the Teepees, in 1954 and 1960. In 1976, the franchise moved to nearby Niagara Falls, where it was known as the Flyers. In 1982, the team was moved again, this time to North Bay, and renamed the Centennials, where it remained until moving to Saginaw in 2002.

Kudos to the Spirit ...  'twas a spirited effort [I watched a few snippets and most of the third period].  But, IMNSHumbleO, the experts (?) gushing over the "professional" aspects of it, and the CHL in general, is growing a bit ho-hum.... or maybe I'm getting crotchetty in my advancing age??

I'm fairly sure I've been thru there twice [1970ish] and about 9ish years back .... can't recall much about either time.    I think that 'way back Kirkland Lake had the distinction of more NHLers/capita .... in the original six era ???

Yep, KL definitely,, my SIL is from there. A coupla TeePees ! were KL’ers.... Wayne Hillman and Murray Hall.  Dick Redmond who was a St. C Blackhawk was from there also.
