I have a Mac laptop with TablEdit installed with the newest version.
Either it's right before my eyes or it isn't but I simply want to delete some tab files that are in the TablEdit program. I just don't see a function that does that. I know that the program was probably written with PC users in mind but wow!, I am stumped.
Any help would be welcomed.

.tef files can be anywhere on your computer, do a search like this and drag the unwanted ones to the trash

Thank you for your help. I did that and it worked.

I have two tef questions:
1. Typically I open tef files with Guitar Pro 7. That can convert them to mp3, and I can download them to iPad and iPhone and use Anytune Pro+ to speed up, loop, change key, etc. lately Guitar Pro has been saying the “TEF file is from too recent a version of TEF” or words to that effect. Any ideas?
2. Why do people use tabledit instead of, for example Guitar Pro 7. I ask because I’m curious, and I don’t want to invest time in learning both Apps.

I would ask the opposite: Why do people use Guitar Pro instead of TablEdit?
I think TablEdit is easy to learn and have all options I need. I can change the speed, I can transpose and change keys, and so on. You also have a midi fil that is easy to convert to mp3. TablEdit can also read notation (in pdf) and turn into tablature.

I love this feature. I used to transpose notation to banjo tap by hand and Tabledit makes it so much easier to arrange and edit. Plus, I can listen to my tab to see if it sounds right and make tweaks easily. I am not familiar with Guitar pro.
I scanned the list of threads in the OP and didn't see one that I thought was particularly appropriate, so I'm not sure where to post these few questions... mods, if this needs to be moved please feel free.
I have been looking at TablEdit and Tabrite and Musescore. I am impressed by Mosescore (and the price is right).
But neither it or Tabrite handle pinches very well. The stems don't go through the staff and that's something I like. MuseScore doesn't extend the stems all the way to the string even if it's a series of eighth notes.
So first question: How does TablEdit handle pinches? Anyone got a quick 'test' tab in pdf that shows pinches and other tablature?
I love the way Musescore allows you to select from a wide range of instruments during playback. I have a simple melodic test score that I set up for banjo (in Musescore) and it has several tied dotted half notes (3/4 time) spanning two measures. When I playback with banjo, of course there is little sustain in such instances so the playback sounds and feels wooden. If I choose a different instrument, such as an organ, for instance, those tied measures sound great...more like a vocal.
I also would like to enter the string tuning to the left of the staff and, so far neither Tabright or Musescore makes it easy. (or, at least I haven't found it easy).
So I am asking how Tabledit handles problems like these...by comparison.
