Kudos to the late John Hartford on this one. Our string band, Biscuit Creek, usually has it requested when we play. Took awhile to figure out the backup banjo on that one. Taped during a practice session.

Thanks for the kind words. This is one I play with my old pal Tim Crosby. Depending on our group configuration he will play and sing either using fiddle or mandolin. We've been playing/performing together for abt 25 years so it's gotten pretty seamless. I found that you can play this tune fairly easily in either A or double D tuning. Usually do it in D to make it easier to sing. With this one, the banjo part is all about tiiming.
