There used to be a saying at fiddlers conventions that 2 banjos were l/2 as good as one, but I never thought so :-) a. I like to paraphrase the famous Chopin quote about guitars, ie. "If there's anything more beautiful than one banjo, it's two.." My husband & I often play double banjos at parties & fiddlers convention. He plays clawhammer & stays low & pick chord-style & try to do runs, rolls & stay above the 7th fret. I like to think about DaCosta Woltz' band for inspiration there or even the wild sounds of Fred C. & Oscar Jenkins. There's a lot of double banjo stuff on the new New North Carolina Ramblers CD, Cotton Mill BLues---the banjo players are Kirk Sutphin, Kinney Rorrer & Jeremy Stephens in various duo combinations. G
