Tunaday #23 - In Sawmill tuning - (gDGCD).

If the title is literal, I’m taken to a place on a river where there was once a sawmill. It’s not in use anymore, but is picturesque in its own way. Very nice tune, Rick.

Thanks Janet. That would be the logical thing to envision but the title actually came to me because it was in Sawmill tuning but the key is not G minor/modal but D minor (I think; my music theory is not the best), so I was "drifting" away from sawmill, so to speak. A bit convoluted perhaps, but why not?

Major, minor...eh what’s a technical term anyway. The important thing is you crafted a beautiful tune...and as Janet says, very strong in sonic imagery. Oddly though, I see legendary moonshiner Popcorn Sutton floating down the backwaters looking for a secluded spot for his still.

Thanks Greg. You never know what you're going to see in those backwaters. :>)
