Howdy. I'm fixin' to buy an open back frailing banjo and am curious why some banjos do have a wood coordinator rod. Can you elaborate for me. Thanks S

It's cheaper than buying a metal cord rod setup. It's a way to do a coord rod and still look like a dowel stick. A little sleight of hand.
