My 1981 Rosewood Jugg I with CAST TONE RING. You may not think so from this recording, but this banjo has an incredible full, yet cutting sound. It has a *vintage* Ludwig head tuned to G/G#. Not to mention the thin Kat Eyz bridge.

Thank you Peter Tilton, my workshop jam teacher who put the backup track together for me. I love this tune, and despite the fact that it sounds like my first time playing it, I have been practicing, but I've got a long way to go! (Played on My Calico)

a bit rough (I'm still working on this one). This is the Sullivan BB to FH conversion ring.

Played on my 1975 Rosewood Jugg I which currently sports a Remo Renaissance head tuned up to around G/G#. This one also has the old spun brass tone ring.

Played on my 1926 Style 3 with Sullivan conversion ring. Again, my playing and my microphone don't do this PreWar justice!

A bit rough and needing more practice, but a little something different on the old '25 PB-4 Ball Bearing with hide head.

Played on old "Doc" with the trusty Sullivan conversion ring. I think its the best conversion ring out there, and I've tried a few. I'm experimenting with a heavier set of strings (10.5, 12, 13, 22, 10.5) and I think there's more sustain, although maybe not so much during recording...

Got some inspiration from my new friend, master banjo technician and picker, Charile Cushman.
