I wrote this song walking through the woods in Maryville, TN while teaching at Steve Kaufman's Acoustic Camp. The sunlight filtering through the trees made me feel like I was floating. In concert I often follow it with the peppy tune-ified version called Floating Downstream. This is the title track of my solo debut co-produced by Mike Marshall and Keith Terry.

This is a song I wrote with my mother in mind. She was in a slow but steady decline all of my life, but always woke up with a smile on her face, always happy to be here. She taught me perseverance, and to make things up as I go. Perfect for a career in old-time banjo!
