I learned this tune from "The Banjo Players Songbook" by Tim Jumper. There are various lyrics as found in the book by Tim Jumper and from Woodie Guthrie. Personally, I like the Guthrie lyrics. Tuning: gDGA#D, 2nd string is tuned to match the 3rd string at the 3rd fret

I apologize in advance for the length of this recording, but I am still sharing it. My excuse is that I felt 'in the groove' . It was just fun to play and I didn't have to think about playing, I just closed my eyes. In any event, I felt I should post this since it is one of the first few songs I learned to play.

For your review, "May the Circle Be Unbroken". Played clawhammer style. I was home with the kids all day since they were off school for a snow day. So, I had some spare time and recorded a back-to-back comparison. The first tune is played on a steel string banjo tuned to G. The second is play on a nylon strung banjo tuned to A.
