For your review, "The Eighth of January". Played in clawhammer style. I learned it from tab found in "Melodic Clawhammer Banjo" by Ken Perlman, Oak Publications. Differing from the tab, I'm tuned 1/2 step below double C, f#BF#BC#

Walking in the Parlor, gCGCD capo at 2nd fret I'm playing two versions I found. My inspiration for playing this was hearing it on the Banjo Gathering CD as played by Scott Ainsley. This led me to the Hammons' family CD where I heard Lee Hammons playing it. I'm not up to their standards. But I stiil enjoy playing this song.

Tuning is aDADE. A tune I came up with. Fiddle tune format A-A-B-B. Sounds, to me, like bits and pieces of the songs I play. The name is based on one of the favorite activities of my 5 year-old son, wrestling with Dad. In our matches I'm usually the recipient of bloody noses and low-blows. Good times... My apologies to my banjo for not using strings 3 and 4.
