This is a test or example recording iof the new Mandora d'Amore. During the first test I whack and then stop the main strings to be able to hear the ringing of the sympathetic strings. Next I play a short sample of some Bluegrass and then finish off with a short sample of clawhammer played on the d'Amore. This recording has no effects added.

Another test of the new Bill Rickard Titanium tone ring. On this cut the banjo has the brass sleeve over the tone ring, on all of the other tests it is without. This is a not quite finished song from my new Old-Time Country music Opera called 1934.

This recording is from our recent concert at Lee Academy for the Arts. It will be one of the tunes in our upcoming live CD. Saint Ann's Reel features the beautiful mandolin work of Josh Coffey and the equally gorgeous fiddle work by Danny Conger, I do sneak a bit of clawhammer banjo in too . The medley is completed with a grand old time fiddle off between Danny and Josh.

This is a demo of a tune written by my friend and compadrie Tommy Ogle called THE WIND. It is performed here by Dan Knowles & His HOT BAND. The band members are Danny Conger - fiddle, Mark Holladay - guitar & high baritone vocal, Sam Knowles - bass & tenor vocal and me caterwallin' the lead & playin' banjo. This was recorded very simply, with just a few mikes and no over dubbs.
