Another test played on my Gibson TB-3 and my African Blackwood bridge. I tightened up the head considerably, and the sound is much brighter. I also found the the angle of the bridge (how upright or tipped) makes a huge difference in the tonal quality. I think I am happier overall with this recording. Enjoy

I recorded this tune on my 1923 Gibson TB-3 Banjo. I made the bridge on this banjo from African Blackwood. I hope you can tell something about the tone of the banjo with this bridge from this recording. The banjo is tuned GDAE octave below the fiddle. I have a skin head on this banjo. The head is not stretched very tight. It will brighten up if tightened. The song is in G. There is a bit of noodling at the beginning of the recording. I left it in so you could hear the tone of the banjo. I would appreciate any comments. I have only been playing the banjo about a month so fire away.Kurt
