Big Scioto, played on a Gold Tone CC50-TR with Nylgut (synthetic gut) strings. The Nylgut strings along with the plastic head and brass tone ring make a nice loud & plunky sound together.

Trying to learn 2-finger thumb lead style. This is an old song; I like EC Ball's version. Played on the Retrotone into the computer's mic, which makes banjos sound like they are on the bottom of the river.

Trying to play a melody with three eighth-note Ds in a row using a back-of-the-thumb lick. It works OK some of the time but melts down the fourth time through. The song is by Billy Bragg, written to unused lyrics by Woody Guthrie. Sorry for the poor recording quality, the nice mic is elsewhere at the moment. I think this was played on my A-scale Gold Tone.
