18 year old Carson Sass is the youngest of the four brothers who make up the band Thorn Creek Express. A homeschooling high school student, Carson began playing the fiddle at the age of 7, but found his true passion when he discovered the 5 string bluegrass banjo at the age of 11. Through the years he has added the harmonica, claw-hammer and Irish tenor banjo, dobro, and most recently the accordion. His musical interests include bluegrass, classical, Irish, and jazz. Outside of studying and practicing, Carson enjoys gardening and volunteers as a master gardener for the University of Idaho Extension.
