I have been trying to learn to play without knowing any "mechanics" of scales, chords really anything basic.
So in the last week or 2 with the help of alot of people from right here on the hangout and i wont name them cause i dont want to leave anyone out i have figured out how scales work, how chords are made and named and basic chord formations.
now comes the hard but fun part, learning where the chords are on the fretboard and getting to where i can change chords with ease, both of these will come hand in hand but instead of just trying to beat out the 3 songs i have yet to get smooth at i will be doing alot more practicing with chord changes. If ya dont know where the chords are and cant change them smoothly you cant play, of course i can get the open G and D7 not too bad C i take a bit of time to get, not much dexterity in the left hand.
I am also getting more serious about the amount of time i put in per week, even tho my work schedule doesnt permit me to play everyday i can play 3 to 4 days a week atleast 3 hours a day most of the time more. Seems like i do better with a day or so inbetween i;ve always been like that tho, put something down for awhile and come back to it and its easier.
