I have two early 30s Kel Kroydon KK-10s with Curtis McPeake tonerings and Frank Neat mahogany necks. Also have two '90s Gibson RB-1 re-issues, one which I had fitted with a 40 hole archtop tone ring and the other with a no-hole Jimmy Cox KY 5 flathead ring, and a wonderful Granada which I put together from top notch parts....recently equipped with a Huber TrueTone Engineered Rim and HR30 ring . Absolutely Incredible Tone and Volume!! Try putting the TrueTone rim/ring assembly in your banjo....you'll love it! Also recently ran across a 1954 RB100 which I'm leaving in original configuration with the bronze tone hoop .......no plans for a tone ring. Sounds great as is!
JD Crowe, Ronnie Stewart, Sonny Osborne, and of course.......EARL !

Switched from electric guitar to banjo in 1971 and still love the sound of the five string merrywang. Teach lessons beginner to advanced. Love fooling around with old Gibsons. I've never met a banjo I didn't like. Well, maybe one or two.....
