While stationed on the USCGC Modoc in 1978 a shipmate played a banjo. Found out that he made his own banjo. I had played some guitar since I was 18 and asked him to show me how to play the banjo. I loved it and bought a beginner model in 1982 or so. I played it for awhile but did not have anyone to help me with it and since there was no "internet" back then I put it away. After 28 years I picked it up again this year and love it; I have since bought the RK-80 and absolutely love it. Can't wait to buy my first premium American made banjo. Update: Placed an order with Janet Davis Music Company for a new Gibson ESS.
