I played upright bass in an old-time string band called the Barn Owls. My wife is an avid banjo nut. I have 30 years of experience recording bluegrass and old-time groups, and I've been a microphone engineer for Shure and Crown for 26 years. In 2009 I started my own microphone company, www.bartlettaudio.com. I hope I can offer some helpful advice from an engineer/musician point of view on recording techniques, and on miking the banjo and other acoustic instruments.
