I have attempted lessons more than once in the past decade, but no teacher was a good fit. I also had too much going on in my life where I couldn't respect the banjo the way I needed to. I recently moved back to Maine after working in photo advertising in the midwest. My father, John Coleman (mainejohn on BH)lives here and is an avid banjo player / lover. We have meet once a week for a lesson, which have been a slow progression for me. I find myself thinking about this instrument when I am away from it. I have a long way to go, but I couldn't ask for a better teacher. Did I also mention that my dad made my banjo in 1975? I am very proud to be playing it.
