This is old, but I'm keeping it: I was taking guitar lessons not so long ago and the guy had a banjo. He played it and I just had to learn to do it. I asked him to teach me and he said no. I fired him and bought a banjo. Been playing ever since. Couple of interesting banjo facts about me: I was part of the ensemble that claimed the world record in Atlanta last summer. Also I am (most likely) the worst banjo player to ever write an article (not letter) published in the Banjo Newsletter. Go figure.
