Started playing banjo at the age of 10. At thed age of 17 joined Cousin Wilbur and Blondie Brooks TV Show in Asheville N.C. Moved to Nashville in 1959 joined Bill Carlisle on the Grand Ole Opry. Along with Shot Jackson invented my electric banjo with which I joined the Porter Wagoner Show in 1962-1974. Recorded most of Norma Jean's, Dolly Parton's, and Porter Wagoner's hit records. Dualed the banjo's with Roy Clark and the Hee Haw Show from 1974-1983. Had two hit banjo albums with Roy Clark: A Pair of Fives and Banjo Bandits. Won two CMA Awards for the albums. Started the first morning show in Branson, Mo1991. I have just started my 18th year of shows in Branson.
