Having fretwork done to my Hatfield /Sampson bridges

Thursday, April 1, 2010

I finally dropped off my Buckcreek to have the frets gone over. I think number 2 will need replaced and 6 more recrowned been a week almost. Ive been playing this Morgan Monroe rockytop archtop. Not a bad banjo really at all. Im gonn swap some bridges change heads and see what happens. I like my banjo with a growly bottom end. I would highly recommend the MM for anyone you get a heck of a lot of banjo for 600 bucks. On a side note Sampson bridges have to be the finest quality bridges Ive ever seen. Great craftmanship. I just wish I had a pile of them to try out to see what suits me. Only have the one and bridges cost $$$

I've played the guitar for over 30 years (Rock,Blues,Country,Bluegrass)decided to pick up the banjo recently. I feel I am progressing fairly quick because of my left hand is already strong and I do some fingerstyle pickin on the guitar. Ive played in mostly Rock bands in the Dayton, OH area. I've really became addicted to the banjo even obsessed at times.Jeff Woods | Create your badge
