I've been singing since before I can remember. I grew up playing guitars with my aunt.. she's 83 now, so we don't get to play much, but once in a while. Boy, I miss that. She gave me my uncle's banjo when he died back in 1990. I picked it up and started learning it from a book, and loved it, but life kind of got in the way, and I just put it in the case and that's where it's been except a couple of times when I took it out for a few minutes. I've thought about learning, but just never seemed to be able to get myself going. Now, the desire to learn has got ahold of me, and I'm going to get started. I'm not sure what it is. It's been so long since I've had it out of the case, I can't even remember if there's a name on it. I stumbled onto this site while searching banjo stuff on the internet. I've been here for a few days now, and have been back a couple times a day. My shoulder is hurt and I can't play yet, but my fingers are itching to get ahold of the banjo. I know my aunt's going to be thrilled to hear me playing. Bluegrass is in our blood. I'm glad I finally decided to get serious about it while she's still living. I'd always regret it if I looked back and hadn't. My musical focus will be mainly on bluegrass gospel. Once I learn how to play, my banjo will become part of my music ministry, and I can't wait. I'm always on the hunt for someone local to sing with, and also, for a duet ministry partner. God's Blessings.. Glory (Susie)
