Too many to name all, but Ron Mullinex, Art Rosenbaum, Wade Ward, Morgan Sexton, Fleming Brown, Derroll Adams, Lea Coryell, Will Keys, Frank Proffit are amongst them.Two of my favourite female singers are Texas Gladden and Almeida 'Granny' Riddle whom I had the pleasure of working with in Laurenburg, North Carolina, in 1972, when my then wife swapped a bottle of perfume with Granny Riddle for her version of the Three Little Babes (Lady Gay)

Originally late 60s -80s English folk duo Dave and Toni Arthur (recordings for Topic, Transatlantic, Leader, Decca). 90s Old Time banjo duo 'The Rufus Crisp Experience' (Fellside records), from 2003 - banjo/guitar/melodeon with Anglo-Appalachian Old Time trio 'Rattle On the Stovepipe' (Wildgoose Records), International storyteller specialising in traditional tales of the Britsh Isles and the Appalachians. For twenty five years editor of English Dance and Song (the magazine of the English Folk Dance and Song Society), journalist, TV and radio scriptwriter/presenter, and playwright.
