As far as banjo players go, my main influence is Don Reno. Of course Earl Scruggs, Ralph Stanley, Eddie Adcock, J.D. Crowe, Charlie Cushman, Sammy Shelor, etc. I enjoy the old time bluegrass of Reno and Smiley, The Stanley Brothers, Country Gentlemen, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Lonesome River Band, etc.

I started playing the banjo when I was 9 years old. Dad bought me and old Alvarez and he began teaching me. Within three 6 months, he purchased a Gibson and I still have that banjo today. I've played in two bands...The Lasters and currently with Stone County Connection. We play mostly local areas but are beginning to get bigger festivals around the country. I also perform at church frequently and want God to use my talents for his glory
